Job description

Job Description: We are seeking a Solar Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy, specifically in solar technology, and possess the technical skills necessary to support the design, implementation, and optimization of solar energy systems. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field, with a major in Electrical Engineering, Solar Engineering, or a related discipline, and a minimum of one year of experience in solar design. Experience with AutoCAD and Helioscope is required for success in this position.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Design and engineer solar energy systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Collaborate with the project team to develop solar system layouts using AutoCAD and perform system simulations with Helioscope.

Analyze customer requirements and site conditions to provide tailored solar system solutions.

Perform electrical calculations and system sizing, ensuring all designs meet local codes, regulations, and standards.

Conduct site assessments and propose solar energy solutions based on available space, sun exposure, and energy needs.

Prepare and review engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation for submission to clients and regulatory bodies.

Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure accurate system installation.

Provide support during the installation and commissioning process to ensure designs are implemented as intended.

Maintain knowledge of current solar industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Solar Engineering, or a related technical field.

At least one year of experience in solar system design, including hands-on experience with both AutoCAD and Helioscope software.

Strong understanding of solar system design, energy modeling, and electrical calculations.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for solar installations.

Proficient in using design tools and software for system analysis and modeling.

Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with additional solar design and modeling software (e.g., PVSyst, SAM).

Familiarity with project management tools and experience working with cross-functional teams.

Knowledge of local and national codes related to solar energy systems.

Certification or licensure as a professional engineer (PE) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in office and on-site environments.

Ability to conduct site assessments, which may include walking, climbing ladders, and carrying necessary tools/equipment.
