Position Summary:

The Logistics Specialist of Renewable Energy Solutions is responsible for coordinating the logistics management function at the project level to receive, control, and distribute across all phases of a project. This role manages the execution of an overall strategy to deploy an optimized logistic process for the successful completion of renewable energy solutions projects. The coordinator will follow policies and procedures established by the logistics manager to report project logistics performance.

A successful Logistics Coordinator of Renewable Energy displays knowledge of company logistics policies and relevant industry standards. Ultimately, an outstanding Logistics Coordinator can identify opportunities to streamline the logistics process at the project level to ensure the timely completion of renewable energy projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to logistics policies and procedures that increase efficiency at the project level
  • Provide input during preconstruction to determine location of lay down yards
  • Receive, offload, and document all delivered materials
  • Appropriately manage inventory within the lay down yard to ensure a streamlined process of issuing inventory into the field
  • Accurately maintain the inventory management system using available resources
  • Assist site manager in determining if the current inventory is sufficient to complete the project based on usage rates, notify Logistics Manager of results
  • Provide personnel with logistics related information such as training sessions, after action reviews, root cause analysis, and lessons learned
  • Review policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date
  • Complete the renewable energy solutions daily logistics operations report and provide it to the site manager
  • Direct and mentor the logistics technicians assigned to projects
  • Prepare project specific daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual logistics reports and provide information to the Logistics Manager
  • Ability to communicate professionally with DSI leadership, as well as representatives from the GC/EPC
  • Cultivate safety as a core value throughout the company, supporting the corporate safety program and personnel
  • Successfully operate material handling equipment to include forklifts, skid steers, and truck with trailer.
Requirements:

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 5 year of relevant experience in logistics management (preferred), 5 year of relevant experience in the renewable energy arena (preferred)
  • A certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management
  • Knowledge of the construction/electrical/solar/renewable industry, and the logistics/transportation industry
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures
  • Display problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader
  • Working knowledge of inventory/warehouse management software, such as ToolWatch
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Written and verbal communication
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Speak and understand Spanish (preferred)
  • Ability to operate a truck with a trailer, and willingness to transport material using this equipment
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job often operates in a field environment and will be required to travel to and from job sites as needed. This role routinely requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
