POSITION: Technical Asset Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Technical Asset Manager will be responsible for reporting requirements, managing 3rd party O&M relationships, and landowner requests/needs for operational utility-scale solar energy projects across the U.S. While this is a full-time position located in Durham, North Carolina, there will be approximately 20% travel.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Onboarding of new projects (gathering all Record design documents, commissioning data review, performance modeling, etc.)
  • Overseeing project-level compliance to ensure that all filings and reports are completed accurately and on time
  • Support negotiation of service provider agreements and amendments
  • 3rd Party O&M Provider management (Work Order approval, invoice processing, Service report review, Maintenance schedule governance)
  • Monitor PV and storage plant operational performance by working closely with the Operations team
  • Develop KPI's related to plant performance, perform root cause analysis when underperformance is identified, and make recommendations to Management on methods for optimization.
  • Support creation and distribution of performance, operations, and financial reporting & analytics
  • Warranty Claim Administration
  • Periodic site visits to operational and under-construction Solar and BESS projects
  • High-priority site outage and site emergency response coordination with O&M Providers - occasional needs outside of traditional core hours
  • Other duties as assigned


SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES

  • Highly proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and attention to detail
  • Self-starter that operates well in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment
  • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership of projects and responsibilities, and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, prioritize efforts, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organization and management skills
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle


EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Engineering related degree is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in utility-scale solar with a focus on operations or portfolio/asset management.
  • Experience with performance modeling of solar plants
  • Knowledge of NERC/FERC compliance is a plus
  • Track record of managing contractors and consultants
