Job description

Reports to:  Project Superintendent 

Works closely with: Project Superintendent, Site Quality Manager, Owners, Subcontractors, Project Management Team

Position Summary:

This position that works closely with the Project Management team to assist in managing the mechanical scope for the project.  You will assist in assuring that the project is being constructed in accordance to the owner’s contract.  

Responsibilities/ Duties:

  • Champion Signal Energy’s CORE Principles on a daily basis.
  • Reading and interpreting specifications and plans for all mechanical aspects of the project.
  • Examining and inspecting mechanical work along with meeting with sub-contractors to ensure satisfactory job progress.
  • Verifying safety and design specifications are met.
  • Directs mechanical personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Support project, construction management with planning, and utilization of proper means and methods for mechanical activities.
  • Analyze situations, identify, and forecast pertinent problems while evaluating realistic options, and recommend/implement appropriate course of action.
  • Ensuring all reports and records are complete in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Flexible and adaptable with working schedule in order to support project needs.
  • Conducting and participating in safety meetings.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.
  • Proven ability promoting outstanding customer service and client relations while representing self and company in a professional and positive manner.
  • Basic computer and software skills to include the use of email and spreadsheets.
  • Effective communicator who has the ability to get along with others in order to be an effective leader.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and industry applicable safety requirements.
  • Optimism, self-starter, ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management.
  • Creative problem solver who has the ability to remain calm during pressure situations. 

Education/ Experience:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.  
  • Experience in the solar industry.
