Job description


As a Software Engineer I here at Honeywell, you will be involved in the design, development, and implementation of software tools and solutions that support our aerospace products and systems. You will work on innovative projects that enhance the performance, safety, and reliability of aerospace electrical systems.
You will work report directly to our Director of Engineering, working out of Phoenix, AZ location on an Hybrid work schedule.
For the first 90 days, new hires will work 100% onsite M-F.
In this role, you will impact the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that support Honeywell's aerospace initiatives, helping to drive innovation and maintain our leadership in the industry.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, test and maintain software tools and applications for aerospace systems and products.
  • Translate system and software requirements into robust implementations.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software bugs and defects.
  • Collaborate across various functional and global engineering and project engineering teams.
  • Work with engineering teams to help release design and documentation.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded systems or aerospace-related applications.

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, C, or Python and understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in design and testing processes.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware-software integration and debugging techniques.
  • Experience with version control systems and software testing methodologies.
  • Internship or co-op experience in aerospace or embedded software development.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems, embedded software design, and aerospace industry standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and eagerness to learn new technologies.
