JOB TITLE: Software Engineer
LOCATION: Irving, TX
DUTIES: Design APIs, develop shippable code, documentation, and unit test new features for digital products. Works with API Developers, Team Leads, and Architects to deliver features through the creation of re-usable RESTful APIs. Responsible for front end design, development and integration. Collaborate with Quality, Product and Cloud Engineering teams to keep digital assets fully functional, secure, and up to date with business needs. Perform pair programming, effectively communicate ideas with the team, and assist in systems integration, performance testing and product releases. Implement policies, roles, data access controls, monitoring events, and resolve system and data issues for continuous functioning of APIs. Build and secure an event/webhook receiver endpoint that receives course-provisioning events from aggregators, validates payloads, verifies signatures/shared secrets, and deduplicates events to prevent double processing. Build and maintain server-to-server aggregator open API integrations, handle JSON payload, and error management. Design and implement queue-based background job processing architecture that can handle burst loads, apply controlled concurrency, and safely retry failures with exponential backo, including rate-limit handling. Use Java, Microservices, REST API development, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Amazon Web Services, GIT, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB in a retail and e-Commerce domain.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and completion of university-level courses, research projects, thesis, or internship, or 6 months of experience involving the following: software development, including building and maintaining server-to-server aggregator open API integrations, handling JSON payload, and error management; using Java, Microservices, REST API development, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Amazon Web Services, GIT, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB; and retail or e-Commerce domain.
