Director, Software Sales

The Director, Software Sales leads strategy and execution of software sales to drive revenue growth and profitability for a defined product portfolio. This role oversees sales teams, ensuring alignment to business objectives and optimizing performance, market positioning, and commercial outcomes.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute short-and long-term sales strategies to drive revenue growth, market share, and profitability
  • Establish sales territories, quotas, and incentive plans; monitor performance against targets and implement adjustments to optimize results
  • Ensure a robust pipeline by overseeing lead generation strategies, sales enablement, effectively leveraging CRM and sales tools
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to align go-to-market strategies, product positioning, pricing, and messaging to customer needs and market trends
  • Refine sales strategies and identify growth opportunities by assessing market landscape, customer needs, and competitive dynamics, including new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts
  • Oversee forecasting, reporting, and analysis of sales performance, providing insights to support strategic planning and decisioning
  • Ensure effective delivery of customer-facing sales activities, including presentations, proposals, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
People Management
  • Accountable for team staffing and managing direct reports to include development, performance management, goal setting, and other managerial duties
  • Ensures direct reports are aware of and follow ethical business practices and Companyโ€™s Code of Conduct to maintain a supportive and productive working environment
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience
  • 10 years of progressive experience in software sales, inside sales, or related commercial roles
  • 5 years of leadership or people management experience
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience leading sales teams selling SaaS or commercial software solutions
  • Experience with subscription-based or recurring revenue models
  • Experience working in cross-functional go-to-market environments

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $139,200.00 - $185,666.67
