Job Description

Product Manager (SS&C Technologies, Inc.; Windsor, CT): The Product Manager will be part of a highly-talented, diverse team responsible for building new features and enhancing existing functionality for SS&C Advent's award winning APX portfolio management and accounting platform. Specific responsibilities include: Partnering with leadership to prioritize product initiatives that support the business strategy. Engaging with clients to build strong relationships, gaining an understanding of how they use our products, as well as their pain points, and using this knowledge to develop strategies for improving client satisfaction. Leading a cross-functional team of engineers in multiple disciplines to drive development of product features and workflows. Collaborating with QA engineers to create test plans that are comprehensive and extensible. Collaborating with technical writers to develop first class documentation. Collaborating with client support and professional services to deliver customer success. Providing project management and status reporting for specific product releases or beta programs. Providing general technical guidance and mentoring to others on the team. Training Advent engineers, other employees, and clients on the product designs and implementations. Domestic and international travel required 5% to visit client locations, SS&C offices, and industry events. Willingness to work outside of typical local business hours (i.e. 8a - 5p) to collaborate with global colleagues.

Telecommuting permitted.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Finance, or other mathematical quantitative field plus 3 years of enterprise software development experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Finance or other mathematical quantitative field plus 1 year of enterprise software development experience.

Must have: Strong reading and analytical skills. Must be able to read complex financial documents and have the ability to translate requirements into product specifications. Strong technical skills and ability to drive direction of product priorities, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals. Experience with agile development. Direct experience working with clients. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
