Position Summary:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Java Developer to join the Private Bank Trading Technology team. The Private Bank Trading space offers a unique opportunity to work on a mission-critical platform that supports key trading functions for the firm's Private Bank business. The platform is undergoing significant transformation, including a large-scale Charles River Cloud Migration and modernization journey, providing extensive opportunities to influence architecture, technology direction, and business outcomes.

This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can independently drive solution design, collaborate effectively with Information Security, Network Engineering, Infrastructure, and external vendor teams, and operate with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives that shape the future state of a business-critical trading platform while leveraging modern cloud-native technologies and engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automates manual release activities
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
  • Support the cloud migration and modernization of a mission-critical PB Trading platform.
  • Accelerate delivery of strategic transformation initiatives and business commitments.
  • Ensure continued stability and performance of a platform that directly supports the firm's trading operations and client service capabilities.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional partners across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development and engineering.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering ,computer Science ,IT or job related field required .
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with a proven track record of designing and developing scalable enterprise applications.
  • Strong experience with messaging and middleware technologies, including Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, or similar event-driven/integration platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, enhance, and support high-performance distributed systems in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Experience with application integration, messaging patterns, and asynchronous communication frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and drive technical solutions.
