Job description

The Localization Producer for Retail Systems will participate in our client's exponential international growth and drive global project initiatives for its world-wide Retail groups. The ideal candidate will:

This role will work with cross functional teams to understand their business requirements, and ensure that globalization needs are integrated across all system innovations and refreshes.
This role will represent the Globalization team in the investigation, evaluation, deployment and UAT of Retail systems. They will partner closely with multiple groups within the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Drive globalization efforts for the systems application team across new initiatives, launches, enhancements and new country expansions to assure global success.
  • Manage localization and translation for technical content using linguistic management systems such as Worldserver. Act as liaison between business and global translation agencies to ensure both can perform to their full potential.
  • Represent localization requirements with the Quality Assurance team during the Supporting the team in defining new production processes that streamline and improve efficiency.
  • Develop strong partnerships with the systems development and quality assurance teams to support their planning and executing of new system releases. This includes participating in user acceptance testing, resolving linguistic issues, root cause analysis and helping to influence departments to consider international implications for global markets.
  • Advise teams on internationalization requirements, formats, tools and processes used to achieve quality and exceptional service.
  • Drive global efficiency and alignment, work with cross functional teams to continually evolve operational and production excellence.
  • Maintain terminology database, style guides, and query management systems.
  • Partner closely with translation vendors to achieve the highest possible quality for the organization by providing continuous guidance and develop strategic requirements.
  • Partner with other localization groups and shared IT services for consistency and technology support.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Detailed knowledge of translation, globalization and localization processes.
  • 5+ years globalization systems and software development, as well as project management experience.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and scripting languages.
  • Strong technical background in IT systems analysis, and new process development.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with World Server, Global Authoring, Dita, CMS tools and translation bug ticket resolution tools.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously and talent based in multiple geographies and timezones.
  • Has an appreciation for product/cultural nuances by geography.
  • Proven experience in process re-engineering to drive efficiencies and streamline workflow.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to handle directional changes with the ability to develop strategies to ensure project success.
  • Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a high-paced, fast-changing and sometimes unpredictable work environment.
  • Must exhibit high degree of ownership and accountability and ability to develop strategies to ensure project success.
  • Proven ability to assess business needs, prioritize accordingly and escalate appropriately.

Education/Experience:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Linguistics, a related field or equivalent experience
  • Master of Science/Master of Business Administration preferred
