Job Summary
Syntax is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated SAP Digital Manufacturing Project Manager / Consultant to join our SAP Digital Manufacturing team in North America. This hybrid role combines project leadership and functional consulting responsibilities across SAP Digital Manufacturing implementations. The ideal candidate will lead project planning, governance, stakeholder communication, and delivery execution while also serving as a trusted advisor on SAP Digital Manufacturing solution design, fit-to-standard workshops, configuration, testing, training, and client adoption. This role offers the opportunity to lead transformative Industry 4.0 initiatives and help clients improve manufacturing operations through SAP Digital Manufacturing and related SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing lead for SAP Digital Manufacturing implementation projects, managing both delivery execution and solution guidance.
  • Lead projects through all phases of the SAP Activate methodology.
  • Own core project management responsibilities, including project plans, timelines, milestones, risk management, issue tracking, status reporting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Facilitate and lead fit-to-standard workshops, requirements discussions, and solution design sessions with customer business and IT teams.
  • Serve as a functional consultant for SAP Digital Manufacturing, guiding configuration and solution decisions aligned to business objectives.
  • Coordinate project resources and cross-functional workstreams, including integration with SAP modules such as PP, QM, PM, IM, and EWM, as well as machine and device integration.
  • Manage project scope and change requests while ensuring alignment to budget, timeline, and delivery quality expectations.
  • Support and coordinate testing, training, cutover planning, go-live, and post-go-live support activities.
  • Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with team members to build expertise in SAP Digital Manufacturing solutions.
  • Support presales activities, including solution positioning, workshops, estimations, and demos.
  • Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and accountability across both client delivery and internal team contributions.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of manufacturing, MES, or digital manufacturing consulting experience required.
  • Experience leading or coordinating enterprise software implementation projects required.
  • Experience with SAP Digital Manufacturing, MES, or related manufacturing solutions strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing business processes and shop floor execution.
  • Experience with SAP Activate or similar implementation methodologies preferred.
  • Ability to manage project plans, risks, issues, dependencies, and executive-level status communication.
  • Experience supporting integration with SAP manufacturing and supply chain modules such as PP, QM, PM, IM, or EWM preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, and customer-facing consulting skills.
  • Passion for learning new SAP technologies and delivering innovative manufacturing transformation projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to client locations across North America.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Production Planning (PP) implementation experience preferred.
  • Formal project management experience in consulting or client delivery environments preferred.
  • PMP, Scrum, SAP, or relevant industry certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with presales support, solution demos, and effort estimation is a plus.
  • An appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • SAP and industry certifications are a plus.
  • PMP, Scrum, or related project management certifications are preferred.
