The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and support business-critical applications that improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and end-to-end order-to-cash execution across McLane's supply chain technology landscape.

Experience supporting warehouse or order management processes for regulated products is preferred, particularly where compliance, inventory accuracy, traceability, and financial controls are critical to business operations.

This is a hybrid position requiring in-office work four days per week and remotely one day per week. Candidates should be within a reasonable commuting distance of Temple, TX.  Qualified candidates able to work from the Austin, TX or Carrollton, TX offices may also be considered.

Benefits you can count on:

  • Day 1 Benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, and company-paid life insurance.
  • Paid time off begins day one.
  • 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days.
  • Additional benefits: pet insurance, maternity/paternity leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more!

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a key engineer for order management and warehouse technology platforms supporting high-volume distribution operations.
  • Support system integrations across order management, warehouse management, inventory control, finance, and other supply chain functions to improve operational efficiency and business continuity.
  • Develop and optimize complex Oracle stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and SQL queries.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to implement enhancements and system improvements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and deliver sustainable solutions for inventory variances, transaction failures, and data integrity issues across integrated systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and system performance issues.
  • Participate in production "on call" rotation support activities, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and system monitoring.
  • Participate in software deployment, testing, QA, documentation and installation efforts.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 4 years of experience developing applications using Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Experience developing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
  • Experience with warehouse management, order management, inventory control, or related supply chain systems.
  • Experience with cross-system integrations using technologies such as MQ, shell scripting, Kafka, or similar enterprise integration tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale supply chain distribution, logistics, or wholesale environments.
  • Experience supporting regulated-product distribution, excise tax stamp accounting, compliance-driven inventory controls, or similar regulated supply chain processes.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle APEX development for operational reporting and business visibility.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
