Job description

The Information Technology (IT) Software Engineering Group (SEG) supervisor will lead a group of software developers responsible for design, development and implementation of customized software solutions across Electric Boat’s business systems.  This role will support software development for both the Digital Enterprise program and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program. 

The supervisor candidate requires experience in requirements and systems analysis responsibilities which include overall coordination and technical management of software development activities.  Responsibilities of this Supervisor position include:

  • Planning, budgeting, and assignment of complex tasks
  • Provide mentorship and employee development opportunities for the group
  • Provide opportunities for technical growth of more experienced engineers
  • Provide training and onboarding for new hires
  • Setting, and assigning measurable goals

This candidate needs to possess good communication skills, ability to interact with customers and the ability to prepare and present project status to EB upper management.


Required:

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Software Engineering,Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, Management Information systems or Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 4 years of leadership or team lead experience in the area of Software development of IT projects
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance through the Department of Defense 

Preferred:

Familiarity with the following:

  • Experience or knowledge of devops methodologies
  • Experience or knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • IT change request and turnover process
  • Experience with Mainframe software development processes
  • IT business systems tools (ex. TC, NX, Oracle EBS, Oracle Finance, etc.)
  • Software development processes
  • Experience working with Electric Boat subcontractors

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with various levels of employees in the organization
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
