Job description

As a Software Engineering Manager within Servicing Technology, you'll lead the Servicing Digital - Transact team - a team of software engineers responsible for payments, payoffs, wallet, and transaction history experiences used by millions of Rocket homeowners and the teams who support them. Servicing Technology is accelerating through a full-scale System of Record modernization, and strong engineering leadership is a strategic asset.
This is a people-leadership role for someone who has grown as an engineer and now wants to multiply their impact through the team they lead. You will own delivery, coach and develop engineers, and stay close enough to the technology - a full-stack stack spanning Next.js or React, a NestJS GraphQL integration layer, and .NET / C# services deployed on AWS and Amazon EKS - to make sound technical and staffing decisions.
You will partner with product, design, and business stakeholders across distributed teams, and you'll help define what AI-native engineering looks like in practice - setting the expectation that AI is a core part of how your team designs, codes, tests, reviews, and ships software.
About the role
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of full-stack engineers, owning hiring, onboarding, performance, and career growth.
  • Own your team's delivery: planning, prioritization, execution, and predictable, high-quality outcomes.
  • Set technical direction alongside your engineers across the front end (Next.js or React with a NestJS GraphQL integration layer) and back end (.NET / C# and NestJS GraphQL).
  • Ensure applications are reliably built, deployed, and operated on AWS and Amazon EKS through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Champion AI-native engineering - driving adoption of AI tools and agentic development workflows to raise team speed and quality.
  • Partner with product, design, data, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous business needs into a clear, achievable roadmap.
  • Remove blockers, manage risk, and communicate status, trade-offs, and decisions clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, inclusion, continuous learning, and healthy engineering practices.
  • Collaborate effectively across distributed engineering teams, including partners in India.

About you
You are a leader who measures success through your team's outcomes and the growth of the engineers you lead. You set a high bar, create clarity in ambiguity, and give people the context and coaching they need to do their best work.
You remain technically credible - able to engage in architecture and design discussions and make informed decisions - while trusting your engineers to own the details. You are curious about AI and committed to helping your team adopt it seriously.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on full-stack work.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing software engineers (people leadership, not solely tech-lead responsibilities).
  • Working knowledge of a modern front-end framework (Next.js or React) and a NestJS GraphQL integration layer.
  • Working knowledge of back-end development in .NET / C# and NestJS GraphQL.
  • Experience delivering software deployed on AWS with Amazon EKS / Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop engineers, manage performance, and deliver through a team.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading teams through AI-native engineering adoption (AI coding agents, AI-assisted reviews, prompt-driven or multi-agent workflows).
  • Track record of hiring and building high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience leading delivery in greenfield, early-stage, or rapidly evolving product environments.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or mortgage servicing.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones.
