McLane is driving the future of digital supply chain through McLane 360, this application will power how we serve customers nationwide. We're looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineer, to lead customer application development teams delivering secure, scalable, and high-impact platforms across supply chain, logistics, and distribution.
You'll provide senior-level technical and people leadership, partner closely with business and IT leaders, and influence how modern engineering practices are applied at scale.
This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Austin or Temple, TX.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and inspire multiple software engineering teams supporting enterprise supply chain platforms
  • Own delivery across the full SDLC, ensuring quality, stability, and on-time execution
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and business leaders to execute McLane's Digital Customer Experience platform roadmaps.
  • Drive modern engineering practices (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native development, observability)
  • Oversee integration across enterprise platforms, data ecosystems, and vendor solutions
  • Establish clear goals, manage priorities, mitigate risk, and optimize resources
  • Lead talent strategy including hiring, coaching, performance management, and succession planning
  • Manage budgets, vendors, and financial transparency while improving performance and cost efficiency
  • Act as a trusted advisor influencing technology and business decisions

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive application development experience with significant people leadership.
  • Experience building mobile apps (Flutter), website (Angular, NextJS), Java micro service architecture.
  • Strong hands-on experience in software engineering, Microservice architecture, integration, and cloud platforms
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and resources in a matrixed enterprise
  • Strong decision-making, communication, and stakeholder influence skills
  • Ability to thrive in high-availability, fast-paced environments
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
