Job Summary

Help shape the future of Medline's Mpower platform-building fast, modern experiences and leading a team that ships high-impact features with a strong product mindset. This role encompasses front-end development leadership, application implementation, upgrades, daily management, and ongoing maintenance of the Mpower ecosystem. The manager will drive stakeholder alignment, ensure application availability and performance, and lead a high-performing development team. The ideal candidate should have strong front-end development expertise, hands-on management experience leading engineering teams, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and a keen understanding of leveraging modern web technologies to enhance productivity, user experience, and business efficiency.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of front-end and full-stack developers responsible for building andmaintainingtheMpowerplatform.
  • Set clear goals,objectives, and performance expectations for the development team, with emphasis on code quality, delivery velocity, and user experience.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members across front-end technologies (React, TypeScript) andsupportingbackend skills, enabling their professional growth.
  • Oversee the planning, architecture, development, testing, and deployment ofMpowerapplication features using React, TypeScript, Python, and Java.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define application requirements, priorities, and build consensus on theMpowerroadmap.
  • Establish and enforce development best practices, including code reviews, change management, release management, CI/CD pipelines, and technical documentation.
  • MonitorMpowerapplication performance, availability, and scalability, taking proactive measures tooptimizefront-end performance and minimize downtime.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and third-party service providers, including contract negotiations, service level agreements, and performance evaluations.
  • Act as a liaison between theMpowerengineeringteam andthe product managementteam, facilitating effective communication and translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Identifyopportunities to enhance theMpowerplatform or introducenew technologiesand frameworks to drive innovation and business efficiency.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging front-end technologies, and best practices in modern web application development.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to define and execute theMpowertechnology roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader businessobjectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovative ideas, process enhancements, and adoption of modern development practices within the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field - or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Relevant Work Experience

  • At least 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role with direct experience managing a front-end development team.
  • Demonstratedproficiencywith React, TypeScript, Python, and Java.
  • Full-stack development experience is a plus, with familiarity across both client-side and server-side technologies.

Additional

  • Performed leadership roles in 1 or more technology projects involving modern web application development.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end architecture patterns, responsive design, and component-based development frameworks.
  • Knowledge of industry best practicespertaining tosoftware design, development lifecycle, and application management.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing engineering teams.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive alignment across teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Some domestic and international travel may berequired.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$134,000.00 - $201,000.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.

Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average. For roles where employees work less than 30 hours per week, benefits include 401(k) contributions, paid time off, as well as access to the Employee Assistance Program, Employee Resource Groups and the Employee Service Corp.
