Based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, you will help advance the industry-leading Rosemount® brand—trusted worldwide for innovation, accuracy, and reliability.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead the software strategy and development for the next generation of Rosemount Magnetic and Vortex Flowmeters.  You will direct major software development initiatives through global engineering teams driving innovation, technical excellence, and secure-by-design practices to deliver industry-leading measurement solutions advancing performance, connectivity, cybersecurity, and reliability.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Prepare detailed multi-year plans for complex programs, establish technical program goals, define cost/schedule requirements, and recommend and initiate innovative projects supporting the product-line strategy
  • Interact frequently with customers, vendors, and supporting cross-functional groups to coordinate technical and administrative matters
  • Prepare technical proposals and represent Emerson to standards bodies
  • Administer technical policies and procedures, assure accuracy and timeliness of completed software documentation packages, approve or write requirements and specifications
  • Provide technical consultation throughout the company within areas of expertise; coach and develop the Rosemount Flow software team
  • Champion modern engineering practices — requirements management, CI/CD, secure development lifecycle (SDL), and appropriate use of AI-assisted development tools — in partnership with the DevSecOps and New Product Development excellence

Who You Are:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Up to 10% travel required (domestic and international)

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Master's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • SAFe SPC or RTE certification or rollout experience
  • Prior experience with flow measurement, process instrumentation, or other industrial sensor products
  • Experience mentoring and developing senior engineering talent across a global team
  • Experience with embedded product development
  • Knowledge of industrial digital communication protocols (HART, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, PROFIBUS, Ethernet/IP)
  • Experience with functional safety (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511, SIL 2/3)
