Job Description:

BlackVe is looking for aSoftware Manager who writes code and leads people, not one or the other. You\'llown the software development process for a combined team of embedded and groundsoftware engineers, run sprint-based delivery, and serve as the voice ofsoftware on interdisciplinary program teams. This means you\'re in architecturediscussions in the morning, unblocking your team at standup, and briefingprogram leadership on progress and risks in the afternoon.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Leading a team of softwaredevelopers across embedded flight software and ground system domains
  • Running agile sprint cycles —planning, execution, retrospectives — and keeping the team moving
  • Representing software engineeringon cross-functional program teams alongside systems, hardware, and assembly,integration, and test (AI&T) engineering
  • Communicating schedule, progress,and technical status to program and company leadership
  • Creating and assembling content fordesign reviews and documentation
  • Identifying, tracking, andmitigating software risks before they become program risks
  • Overseeing deployment workflows,build infrastructure, configuration management, and version control practices
  • Contributing technically —reviewing code, making architectural decisions, and writing software when theteam needs it
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands-on softwaredevelopment in embedded systems or ground software
  • Demonstrated experience managing orleading a software team through iterative/agile development
  • Strong understanding ofconfiguration management, CI/CD, build systems, and deployment processes
  • Ability to communicate technicalprogress, risk, and trade-offs to non-software stakeholders
  • Experience working oninterdisciplinary engineering teams (hardware, systems, software)
  • U.S. citizenship and ability toobtain a DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Space flight software or groundsystem development experience
  • Experience with real-time orsafety-critical embedded software (C/C++, RTOS environments)
  • Familiarity with software assurancepractices for mission-critical or safety-critical systems
  • Active DoD Secret or TS/SCIclearance
  • Experience in a small-team orstartup environment where you wore multiple hats
Location and Travel Requirements:
  • This position is based in Albuquerque, NM, withoccasional travel to other company locations or partner facilities asneeded.
