Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Test Engineer to join our networking and IP services team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Software Engineering, and Hardware Development teams to validate next-generation networking solutions. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive test strategies, executing and automating test cases, identifying and troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through robust regression testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Software Engineering, and Hardware Development teams to review product requirements and design specifications.
  • Develop detailed functional test plans and test cases based on product requirements and design documentation.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases to validate product functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Identify, document, and track software and hardware defects using bug tracking systems.
  • Work closely with development teams to analyze, debug, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and regression testing workflows.
  • Participate in test reviews and provide feedback on product quality, risks, and release readiness.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance testing effectiveness and product quality.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with at least1 year of experiencein software testing for networking and IP services products;OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with at least2 years of experiencein software testing for networking and IP services products.
Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in the following areas:

  • High-speed networking technologies and Ethernet protocols.
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking features, including QoS, Load Balancing, OpenConfig Telemetry, P4 Runtime (P4RT), and Firewall technologies.
  • Routing and transport protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP, Multicast, L2VPN, L3VPN, and VPLS.
  • Hardware platform qualification and validation testing for new networking products.
  • Test automation using Python and Robot Framework.
  • Experience working in FreeBSD, Linux, and virtualized environments.
  • Hands-on experience with network test equipment such as Ixia and Spirent.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of a variety of software testing methodologies, including white-box, black-box, integration, system, and solution testing.
