About your team:
Interactive Brokers is seeking an experienced Full Stack Java Developer to join a small, high-impact team responsible for the development and maintenance of CoChMA (Client-risk Operations and Control Hub for Monitoring Applications), our integrated client services risk management platform, along with various other internal risk and margin systems. These tools are mission-critical, actively utilized by the Client Risk Management (CR) team to monitor and mitigate client-facing risk exposure across IBKR's global operations.
What will be your responsibilities within IBKR:
  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side application components usingJava and the Vert.x framework.
  • Build and enhance front-end interfaces using Vue.js, HTML, and CSS
  • Write and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to support margin rate governance system, risk and margin reporting.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues in production environments.
  • Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and team knowledge sharing.
  • Work independently and take full ownership of assigned modules and features, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Continuously improve existing systems through refactoring, performance tuning, and adoption of best practices.
  • Have a desire to learn about and understand financial instruments and concepts.

Skills Required:
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong emphasis on Java back-end development
  • Hands-on experience with Vert.x or similar reactive/event-driven Java frameworks
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies: Vue.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle SQL, including query optimization and schema design
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration
  • Experience developing and maintaining applications in a financial services or similarly high-stakes environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team while managing individual responsibilities with a high degree of autonomy

  • Experience with Perl and/or Python for scripting, automation, or data processing tasks
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts, margin systems, or financial regulatory frameworks
  • Exposure to low-latency or high-availability system design
