Join Our Team as a Software Developer

G2 Software Systems, Inc. (G2) is seeking a motivated, innovative, and driven mid-level Software Engineer to join our dynamic research and development team supporting cutting-edge defense initiatives.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer at G2, you'll play a key role embedded within Government Laboratories, contributing to mission-critical systems that support national defense. You'll work on backend development, DevSecOps pipelines, and enterprise integrations in a collaborative, Agile environment that values innovation and technical excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning, tracking, and scheduling of software deliverables
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services
  • Build and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for automated deployment
  • Collaborate with system engineers to containerize and integrate applications into enterprise environments
  • Contribute to solution architecture and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and Agile methodologies
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of programming experience, primarily in Java and Python
  • 3-5 years of software development, software system integration, and/or systems engineering experience
  • Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture patterns and software engineering best practices
  • Active DoW Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with TRAX software
  • Additional experience in system integration or enterprise-level deployments
  • Active DoW TS/SCI clearance
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate each department at G2 and at the assigned client facilities.
Location

This is a full-time, on-site position based in San Diego, CA, where you'll work side by side with the team and our clients to achieve mission success. Being on-site allows us to deliver the hands-on support our clients rely on, fostering collaboration, innovation, and real-time problem-solving. Travel requirements are minimal (up to 10%).

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position in California is $100,000/year to $120,000/year, depending on your expertise, and market location conditions.
