To excel as a Software Engineer in a remote nonprofit, you generally need strong programming skills (such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby), experience with web development frameworks, and preferably a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with collaboration tools like GitHub, project management systems (e.g., Jira or Trello), and knowledge of cloud platforms or CRM systems commonly used in nonprofits is valuable.
