Job description

Job Summary - Desktop Engineer
- Provide on-site IT support at Cambridge, MA or Danvers, MA locations, supporting manufacturing, lab, and Data Center environments.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software (PCs, tablets, scanners, printers, AV equipment, etc.) including devices used in manufacturing and clean room settings.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for incidents related to IT, AV, and network devices; resolve issues and escalate as needed.
- Manage IT asset lifecycle (inventory, labeling, imaging, allocation, recovery, hygiene validation, secure storage, vendor coordination, and disposal).
- Support network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs) at a basic (L1) level, including rack and stack tasks.
- Perform power shutdown maintenance activities for Data Center IT equipment, ensuring proper process adherence.
- Provide smart Hands and Feet support for technology teams, including physical access coordination for vendors.
- Monitor and coordinate printer usage and maintenance with vendors to ensure service continuity.
- Coordinate and perform cable patching and ensure basic network, Wi-Fi, printer, and voice service availability.
- Ensure compliance with GMP/GxP regulations and clean room protocols, including change control, safety, and PPE requirements.
- Adhere to 5S/LEAN or similar methodologies in IT rooms/data centers; maintain best practices for safety and quality.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams (Network, Server, OEMs) on priority issues.
- Maintain high attention to detail and quality standards in all IT support activities.
- Respond proactively to critical support incidents (P1/P2), including preparing spares and crash carts as needed.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in IT support, preferably in manufacturing, lab, or regulated environments.
