The Senior Desktop Engineer will play a key role in modernizing Arrowstreet Capital's workplace technology ecosystem. Working across cloud, virtual, and physical computing platforms, this position is responsible for advancing endpoint management, automation, digital workspace solutions, and emerging technologies.


As a member of the Desktop Engineering team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of end-user computing by supporting cloud-based virtual desktops, modern endpoint management, automation initiatives, and emerging AI technologies. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, and business teams to build scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that enable our employees to be productive wherever they work.


The ideal candidate combines strong engineering expertise with a continuous improvement mindset, helping deliver secure, scalable, and intuitive technology experiences for our employees.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and support cloud-based virtualdesktop platforms,such as VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop,AWSWorkspaces.

  • Engineer and support enterprise endpoint solutions using Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Windows Autopilot, and Microsoft 365 offerings.

  • Manage virtual desktop images, application delivery, profile management, performance optimization, and user experience improvements.

  • Leverage endpoint analytics and telemetryto proactively identify and resolve user issues.

  • Support the strategy and evolution of Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) platformsfor secure access.

  • Developautomation solutions using PowerShell, APIs, and related technologies to improveefficiency and reduce manual effort.

  • Package, deploy, patch, and maintain enterprise applications across physical and virtual desktop environments.

  • Manage endpoint compliance, operating system updates, security baselines, and application lifecycle management.

  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex endpoint, application, Microsoft 365, and VDI issues.

  • Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver scalable, and reliable end-user computing solutions.

  • Support the deployment, administration, and governance of Microsoft Copilot and other enterprise AIsolutions.Developand support Copilot agents, workflowautomationsand other AI-enabled solutions.

  • Create andmaintaintechnical documentation, standards, procedures, and operational runbooks.

  • Identify opportunities for automation, self-service, standardization, and technology modernization.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Desktop Engineering, Endpoint Engineering, VDI Engineering, or related infrastructure role.

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Experience supporting enterprise VDI platforms such as VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, or similar solutions.

  • Strong understanding of virtual desktop architecture, image management, profile technologies, application delivery, and performance optimization.

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Entra ID, and modern endpoint management practices.

  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience.

  • Experience with enterprise application packaging, deployment, patching, and software lifecycle management.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365 applications, virtual desktops, and endpoint infrastructure.

  • Experience supporting endpoint security technologies, compliance requirements, and device management best practices.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading cloud VDI migrations or modernization initiatives.

  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, agent development, Power Platform, or enterprise AI governance.

  • Experience building workflow automation using Power Automate, APIs, or AI-assisted operational tools.

  • Experience with PSADT, Patch My PC, or similar software deployment and automation platforms.

  • Experience with SCCM/MECM in co-managed or hybrid endpoint environments.

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $310,000 per year.
