    Job Description

    The Software Engineer is primarily responsible for designing, developing, configuring and supporting computer software applications.

    Software Engineer Duties Include but are not Limited to the Following:

    Level I - Minimum

    • Manage designated technology application portfolio from configuration, maintenance and monitoring
    • Provide analysis, architectural design and leadership on small size projects
    • Work within defined IT processes and procedures including the company's internal software development life cycle methodology (SDLC)
    • Serve as liaisons between technical and business departments in order to ensure that all requirements and targets are met
    • Work under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment
    • Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience
    • Apply basic application management and administration skills with moderate level of proficiency
    • Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes at all times
    • Participate in 24x7 On Call rotation supporting break/fix ticket resolution.
    • Other duties as assigned by management

    Level II - Fully meets the responsibilities of Level I plus the following:

    • Manage designated technology application portfolio from reengineering, enhancements and upgrades, to maintenance and monitoring
    • Provide analysis, architectural design and leadership on medium and large complexity projects
    • Work within and assist with management of defined IT processes and procedures including the company's internal software development life cycle methodology (SDLC)
    • Work with little to no supervision with extreme latitude for independent judgment
    • Consult with senior peers on medium to large complexity projects
    • Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to peers for areas of expertise
    • Apply proficient application management and administration skills with moderate level of proficiency

    Senior - Fully meets the responsibilities of Level II plus the following:

    • Provide analysis, architectural design and leadership on large complex projects
    • Work with little to no supervision with extreme latitude for independent judgment
    • Consult with senior peers on large complexity projects
    • Proficient in all levels and phases of application development and support
    Qualifications

    Basic Minimum Education Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or equivalent experience and training

    Basic Minimum Work Requirements:

    • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

    Level I - Minimum

    • Up to 3 years of successful application & system development and management; database experience utilizing the .NET Framework
    • Analytical, motivated and ability to learn new technologies and applications
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Knowledge and management of System Development Lifecycle Methodologies a plus
    • Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
    • Keenly attentive to detail
    • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential

    Preferred Experience:

    • SQL Server or Oracle
    • Leading projects, developing and administrating Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS): STARLiMS, Copia, Watson
    • Leading projects, developing and administrating Specimen Management Systems
    • On call support experience
    • Leading projects, developing and administrating Lab Instrument Interfaces connecting instruments to LIMS
    • Working knowledge of HL7 standard and coding
    • Knowledge of testing laboratory operations and processes a plus
    • Corepoint, Power BI reporting, Fetch, SSRS report building
    • Experience building custom tools for data transfer and reporting
    • SAS data formatting
    • Developing and administrating ERP and CRM or other software systems: GreatPlains, SalesForce, Carevoyant
    • High level of proficiency with PC based software programs; including project management tools, MS Project

    Level II - Fully meets the qualifications of Level I plus the following:

    • Minimum of 3-7 years of successful application & system development and management; database experience utilizing the .NET Framework
    • Experience using and applying System Development Lifecycle Methodologies
    • Proven experience leading tasks or projects related to medium to large size software implementations

    Senior - Fully meets the qualifications of Level II plus the following:

    • Minimum 7+ years of successful application & system development and management; database experience utilizing the .NET Framework
    • Proven experience leading tasks or projects related to large size software implementations

    Physical Requirements:

    • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office
      equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
    • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
    • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
    • Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions

    Additional Information
