Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducts research and investigations to develop, and test, new software and applications.
  • Develop new or current welding methods, techniques, and procedures, discover new patterns of welding phenomena, or to correlate and substantiate hypotheses.
  • Revises software to assist production (Press & Welding) personnel in the manufacture of product, relating to specification restrictions.
  • Evaluates new developments in the welding field as it relates to software for possible application to current welding problems, production processes or cost savings.
  • Support maintenance members on emergency downtime situations when required and participate in the training of maintenance personnel.
  • The Controls Engineer will be responsible for ensuring processes are improved as required and standards are reviewed and followed when applicable.  
  • Performs trouble shooting on existing equipment for programming problems and resolution.
  • Follows all plant rules regarding Safety and Quality Procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFACTIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in Engineering and/or related field plus a minimum of (3) years experience.
  • Knowledge of electricity and its dangers.
  • Meet minimum qualifications as contained in the selection process.
