For this position, the expected base pay range is $100,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESย ย 

  • Ensures the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable mannerย in accordance withย company policies, guidelines, and procedures.ย ย ย 

  • Manages operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals.ย ย Complies withย terms outlined inย client SLAs.ย 

  • Drivesย company Continuous Improvement effortsย and provides ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations and on-going cost savings measures.ย 

  • Meets all client specified KPI's andย complies withย Quality system requirements.ย 

  • Manages the operations to achieve prescribed objectives.ย ย Applies sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs toย supervise fairly and equitably, counsel, and (where needed) discipline team members.ย ย ย 

  • Collaborates with Human Resources.ย ย Assistsย in creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development.ย ย Participates in performance evaluationย systemย for recommending promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities.ย

  • Effectively keeps senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect the operationsย

  • Reviewsย current volume demandsย toย plan for reorganization of warehouse space, and needed changes in levels of supplies, equipment, or staffing needs.ย 

  • Responsible for ensuring effective training is delivered to team members by qualified individualsย and ensures adherence to SOPs (DSV and client).ย 

  • Ensures leadership team assessesย progressย of traineesย toย determine new hire performanceย and DSV cultural fit.ย 

  • Maintainsย highย degree of motivation in team members toย retainย focusย of providingย highestย levels of customer satisfaction.ย 

  • Provides ongoing growth and development opportunities for team membersย ย 

  • Supports adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).ย 

  • Conductsย routineย staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities.ย 

Management Information Systemsย ย ย 

  • Ensuresย all team members areย properly trainedย and efficient in the required information systems (including WMS systems) to meet company and clientย objectivesย andย facilitateย the efficient operation of the facility.ย ย ย 

  • Ensures that necessary computer software and hardware areย purchasedย in accordance withย Corporate IT policies and guidelines.ย ย ย 

  • Remains knowledgeableย regardingย changes in hardware and software technology.ย ย ย 

  • Developsย proficiencyย in client systems.ย ย 

Customer Management:ย ย 

  • Managesย high levelย customer service standards for all functions.ย ย ย 

  • Assures that client accounts receive the required level of operational and administrative support.ย 

  • Maintainsย appropriate contactย with all functions and responds to requests whenย required.ย ย 

  • Attends or leads meetings with key customers to discuss any customer issues.ย ย 

  • Coordinates management of supplier/customer visits to the site.ย ย 

  • Promotesย a positive relationshipย with clients by providing excellent customer service.ย ย ย 

Budgeting/Financials:ย ย ย 

  • Supports the development of an annual operating budget.ย ย ย 

  • Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters.ย ย 

  • Assists and supports to ensure that the budgeting and pricing activities are in compliance with contract guidelines.ย ย ย 

Equipment & Facilitiesย 

  • Manages existing programs forย maintainingย company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping,ย safety,ย and equipment including material handling equipment (MHE).ย 

  • Ensuresย team members areย properly trainedย on any MHE.ย ย ย 

  • Keeps informed of relevantย new technologyย andย makeย recommendations as applicable.ย ย 

Safetyย 

  • Achieves company goals in terms of injury frequency ratings (IFR) and other safety metrics byย establishingย a proactive and participative safety culture within the operations.ย ย ย 

  • Audits warehouse for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules.ย ย ย 

  • Ensures all federal,ย provincial,ย or other statutory requirements are adhered to within theย parameters of Health and Safety.ย 

OTHER DUTIESย 

  • Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntaryย 

  • Performs other duties asย assigned.ย 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESย ย 

  • Manages warehouse operations supervisors & support staff.
