You collaborate with upper-level management and your developers to make sure that new and existing software applications meet business objectives.

What does a software development manager do?

A Software Development Manager oversees teams of software engineers to ensure successful planning, development, and delivery of software projects. Job description

Do you enjoy working on distributed systems and solving problems of scale, availability, and low latency. Are you interested in building a large-scale distributed system that serves API traffic for applications around the world and stays seamless as traffic scales and infrastructure conditions change?
If so, then come join the AWS AppSync team. AWS AppSync is a fully managed, serverless service for building GraphQL and Pub/Sub APIs that securely connect applications to data and events at scale.

Developers use AppSync to bring together data from sources like Amazon DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and HTTP endpoints behind a single API endpoint, and to deliver real-time updates to connected clients through managed WebSocket subscriptions, without having to build and operate the underlying API infrastructure themselves.
We're looking for engineers who can independently design and deliver features and components of AWS AppSync. As a Software Development Engineer, you'll own the design, implementation, testing, and operation of meaningful parts of the service, make sound technical decisions, and contribute to the team's architecture and best practices. You'll continuously identify areas of growth within the existing frameworks, tools and processes to develop further technical mechanisms that reduce waste and continuously improve

You'll collaborate with engineers throughout the company who are building the next big thing in cloud computing. We need our engineers to be versatile, display strong ownership, and be enthusiastic to dive deep on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and operate features and components of AWS AppSync
- Own delivery of well-scoped projects end to end, from design through production
- Contribute to the team's technical designs and decisions through design and code reviews
- Improve operational excellence, security, and quality in the areas you own
- Work with senior engineers to deliver features to customers around the globe.
