Software Development Engineering - Advisor
TITLE: Software Development Engineering - Advisor
EMPLOYER: Fiserv Solutions, LLC
LOCATION: Milwaukee, WI (and various unanticipated locations throughout the US subject to authorization from management)
DUTIES: Design, implement, integrate, and document software architecture. Develop features and components for non-production and production environments. Write automated testing to ensure code coverage of the software services. Design and develop scalable payment services and solutions, redesign key components, refactor existing code, and write MySQL and NoSQL data migration scripts. Optimize database queries, perform code reviews, and improve the code quality. Design and implement REST APIs, integrating them with mobile apps, web dashboards, payment devices, and third-party applications. Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams on project planning, technical debt resolutions, and software feature development. Participate in rotational support calls to troubleshoot production issues and coordinate timely solutions with customer support teams. Conduct long-term improvement operations to ensure compatibility with evolving mission requirements.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field and 4 years in any job title involving experience building Java web applications. Prior experience must include: 4 years designing and developing robust web applications and APIs; 4 years working with SQL or NoSQL databases; 4 years developing applications using modern web development frameworks and technologies; 4 years using code version control systems including Git or SVN; 3 years performing database design, optimization, and performance tuning for query efficiency; 3 years working with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices; 3 years deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP); 3 years creating and managing application monitoring tools using Datadog; 2 years working with MongoDB, ArgoCD, Kubernetes or Helm Charts; 2 years working with logging tools including Grafana or OpenSearch; 1 year integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and increase team productivity; and 1 year making data-driven decisions by helping build data pipelines with reporting tools.
