Role Overview

  • The Product Incubation Manager drives new software product ideas through the company's incubation track, from early ideation to MVP realization.
  • The role focuses on accelerating innovation by structuring ideas, validating value propositions, and coordinating the development of early product versions.
  • The Product Incubation Manager works closely with industry teams, engineering leads, and the Product Owners responsible for the respective industry portfolios.
  • This collaboration ensures that new ideas are aligned with the existing portfolio and product strategy from the beginning.
  • Once an incubated product reaches a sufficient level of maturity and market validation, responsibility transitions fully to the Product Owner, who continues product development and scaling within the software product track.
  • The Product Incubation Manager then initiates the incubation of the next product idea.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive software product ideas through the defined incubation process from concept to MVP.
  • Facilitate ideation workshops and help shape and refine new product ideas.
  • Challenge assumptions, problem statements, and early business cases.
  • Work closely with industry teams to understand business needs and translate them into product concepts and MVP requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering leads during the realization of MVP solutions.
  • Act as the central interface between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate continuously with Product Owners to ensure alignment with industry portfolios and product strategy.
  • Track incubation progress, including effort estimates, timelines, and reporting, ensuring development activities remain aligned with plans and resource expectations.
  • Prepare and execute the transition of mature products into the software product track.
  • Contribute to improving and optimizing the company's product incubation and innovation processes.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Informatics, Business Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration with technology focus, or a comparable field.
  • Around 5 years of professional experience in product development, innovation management, product management, Product Owner roles, or agile project management.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments connecting business stakeholders and software engineering teams.Solid understanding of Agile ways of working and software development processes.
  • Ability to structure complex topics, anticipate risks or obstacles, and proactively address issues early.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to handle escalations and complex stakeholder situations.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel in a dynamic environment.
  • Very good English language skills, written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as Product Owner or Product Manager.
  • Experience working with software engineering teams in agile environments.Knowledge of industries such as Retail, Mining, Manufacturing, or Construction.
  • Familiarity with SAP environments or enterprise software ecosystems.
  • Personal ProfileStrong communicator who connects business and technical teams effectively.
  • Proactive and structured with a strong drive to move ideas forward.
  • Curious and analytical with an interest in innovation and product development.
  • Comfortable working in a global, cross-functional environment.
