Job description

Job Summary:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Software Developer II โ€“ DevSecOps Support for the NISSC 3 program. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software components in a secure environment while applying DevSecOps practices and collaborating with various teams to implement new features and resolve defects.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design, develop, modify, test, and maintain software components for cadence-managed and event-managed program deliverables.
โ€ข Lead or perform software integration, troubleshooting, and defect resolution activities.
โ€ข Apply secure coding practices in alignment with DevSecOps and cybersecurity requirements.
โ€ข Use version control and configuration management tools to manage source code, branches, baselines, and releases.
โ€ข Collaborate with systems engineering and test teams to implement new capabilities, address findings, and validate changes.
โ€ข Document software releases, including changes, test results, and known issues, to ensure traceability and compliance with standards.
โ€ข Provide technical input for incident reports, maintenance records, and user/operational documentation.
โ€ข Contribute to continuous improvement of development, integration, and DevSecOps processes, tools, and pipelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in one of the following (or closely related field): Information Technology (IT) / Cybersecurity / Computer Science (CS)/ Information Systems (IS) / Data Science / Software Engineering OR equivalent DoD/Military training and experience in software development or related discipline.
โ€ข 4โ€“6 years of professional software development experience, preferably in a secure or mission-critical environment.
โ€ข Strong skills in software design, development, modification, testing, and maintenance using modern languages and frameworks.
โ€ข Demonstrated proficiency in software integration, troubleshooting, and secure coding practices.
โ€ข Experience documenting software releases and providing technical input for reports and operational documentation.
โ€ข Experience with tools such as: ELMS, RTC, Jira, Confluence, ClearCase, ClearQuest, SQL or related database tools.
โ€ข Active Secret clearance at time of hire. Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI as required by the program.
