About the Role
We are looking for a drivenSoftware Development Engineer in Test (SDET)to support a backend-heavy, microservices-based architecture built primarily in TypeScript. This role requires someone who canoperateindependently and take ownership of automation across both service-level and cross-service testing.
You'llensure each service is well-tested in isolation while also building robust integration and end-to-end test strategies thatvalidatehow services interact across the system. This is a high-impact role focused on improving reliability, accelerating development velocity, and embedding quality into the engineering culture.
What you'll do:

Design and implement automated testing strategies for a distributed microservices architecture

Build andmaintainservice-level (unit + integration) automated testsfor TypeScript/Node.js services

Developcross-service integration teststovalidateAPIs, contracts, and workflows

Create and evolve reusable automation frameworks for backend and API testing

Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback

Collaborate with engineers to embed testing into the development lifecycle

Identifygaps in coverage and drive improvements in system reliability

Troubleshoot flaky tests, distributed system issues, and test environment challenges
What You Bring:
4+ years of experience in an automation-focused role (SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or similar)
Strong experience testingbackend systems and microservices architectures
ProficiencyinTypeScript/JavaScriptand experience with Node.js services Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or C#; experience in Python or Go is a plus Working knowledge in Postman API.
Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Playwright,Supertest, or similar)
Experience withAPI, integration, and contract testing(e.g., Pact or similar)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
Solid understanding of distributed systems (service dependencies, retries, eventual consistency)
Ability tooperateindependently and take ownership of ambiguous problems
Nice tohave:experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), Docker/Kubernetes,Test containers, observability tools, and performance testing Growth & Impact This role starts with a strong focus on building a scalable automation foundation across our services. As that foundation matures and becomes embedded within the team's workflows, ownership of automation will increasingly shift to the broader engineering team. Over time, this role is expected to evolve into a more traditionalSoftware Engineerposition, with opportunities to:

Contribute directly to service development
Helpmaintainand extend the automation ecosystem as a shared team responsibility

The annual salary range for this position is $99,000.00 - $198,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
