Machinist 1, 2nd shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:15pm-1:45am.

Job Summary:
Performs routine tasks which include cleaning machines, deburring parts, and saw operations. Operates other types of machinery such as numerical control (NC) and computer numerical control (CNC).
*Schedule note: Training will take place on the first shift (M-F, 7-3:30pm) for approximately 2-3 months. Once training is complete, the role will transition to the permanent 2nd shift schedule (M-TH, 3:15pm-1:45am)
Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Operates saws and delivers material to operators as needed.
  2. Operates lift devices (chain hoists, pallet jacks, forklifts).
  3. Keeps the material area clean and provides assistance with cycle count needs.
  4. Conducts in-process inspection.
  5. Prepares/enters/completes work order reporting, transactions, documentation, and non-conformances in applicable software and computer systems.
  6. Adheres to safety practices, 6S, and follows Fike policies and ISO9001.
  7. Must be able to pass the forklift certificate within 6 months of hire..
  8. Performs set up on at least one machine.
  9. Able to set up and run 50% of the product on the primary machine.
  10. Able to observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.

Work Environment:
The employee is frequently exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Job Qualifications:
REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent. Six plus months of Vo-Tech, manufacturing, or mechanical exposure experience. Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, work orders and engineered drawings. Exposure to using hand tools and measuring tools (calipers and gauges). Basic mathematical and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to perform Trainee duties.
Compensation: starting at $21 per hour and is based on the candidate's experience.
