On the Transactional Surveillance Technology team you will be testing infrastructure you build will be critical to maintaining the team's velocity and reliability in detecting market manipulation and financial crimes, directly supporting regulatory compliance and protecting millions of client accounts. The quality and reliability you ensure has real-world impact on market fairness and financial security

What will be your responsibilities within IBKR:

As a Software Development Engineer in Test and help protect market integrity at massive scale. You'll build and maintain the automated testing infrastructure that ensures reliability across systems processing 1+ billion order events daily—work that directly impacts the fairness and security of financial markets.

  • Build scalable testing frameworks that enable our team to deploy confidently and maintain high system reliability
  • Design comprehensive test suites covering unit, integration, and acceptance testing that catch issues before they reach production
  • Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to embed quality practices throughout the development lifecycle
  • Provide metrics and reporting on test coverage, quality trends, and system reliability
  • Build and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for test infrastructure
  • Develop data quality checks to ensure integrity across pipelines and databases
  • Investigate and triage test failures, working with development teams to identify root causes and implement fixes

What required skill’s you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related quantitative field
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong coding skills (Python required)
  • Strong experience with unit testing frameworks (pytest, unittest, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience with version control systems (git)

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000 per year, based on skills, experience, and location. The offered salary is just part of the total compensation package.
