Job description

The Digital Enterprise (DE) Change Management Testing Engineer will provide support to existing Programs and future with a focus on testing software and procedure updates. This includes managing large software projects, requirement development, test script development and maintaining procedures to enhance Electric Boats capability to deliver change information internally to all downstream consumers as well as externally to SUPSHIP and NAVSEA.

The Change Management Testing Engineer would support:

  • Drive efficiency into the Design Disclosure and Change value stream by developing and tracking tool updates/testing, processes/procedures and training.
  • Business lead for Change software projects and ITCR development.
  • Drive efficiency into Design Disclosure and Change value stream by
    • Implementing procedure comments
    • Making procedure and/or tool updates for production support tickets, continuous process improvement database and business direction
    • Development, execution and maintaining test scripts to support software changes and testing
    • Development, execution and maintaining test scripts related to upgrades of software
  • Communicate and provide training when applicable to updated processes and software changes.
  • Supporting & coordinating business cases for Change Digital Enterprise software and process improvements.
  • Testing and procedure development in support of future Programs
  • Investigate and test upcoming software and/or process changes related to upgrading software systems.

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Software, Industrial, Systems, Chemical, or Computer Engineering
  • 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience 

Preferred:

  • Experience in Teamcenter and/or NX applications
  • Requirements development experience
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills
  • Experience with software testing
  • Experience with implementing procedure changes to technical documents
  • Experience with test script creation

To be successful in this position the applicant should have:

  • Ability to create, execute and maintain procedures
  • High level working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter and NX
  • Project Management Skills: Managing to established dates and schedules, as well as estimating and scheduling new task development
  • Ability to develop effective relationships
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Basic understanding of Change Management Digital Enterprise (DE) processes & tools
  • Knowledge of software testing practices
