What is the Opportunity?

CanAtom, a joint venture between AtkinsRealis and Aecon, is delivering the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment Project under a collaborative contract with Ontario Power Generation.  The joint venture is underway to complete the retube, feeder, and boiler replacement (RFBR) of Units 5-8. Building on the successful delivery of the Darlington Refurbishment Project, the CanAtom team brings proven experience in safely executing complex nuclear projects on time and on budget to support Ontario's clean energy future.

The Procurement Co-op is a highly motivated self-starter who will assist in various areas of the RFBR project, depending on business requirements. 

This position is seeking a 12 or 16 month co-op term supporting overall procurement, materials and facilities.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Procurement support with Accruals, Purchase Requisitions, Shipment Releases, and Invoicing
  • Utilize different software programs to generate reports for procurement and engineering
  • Develop and maintain Excel reports extracted from various data sources
  • Interface between Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Document Control, Execution staff, and Project Control teams
  • Organize meetings (internal or client) as required and develop meeting minutes
  • Reports on Action Items from procurement meetings for input to the Action Items register
  • Provide support to the Project Procurement Director and Project Procurement Manager as required

What You Bring to the Team:

  • 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Engineering degree program (Energy, Power, Electrical, Electronics, I&C, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Nuclear)
  • 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Business, Computer Science or Finance degree program
  • 2nd or 3rd year Engineering Technology or Engineering Technician program (Energy, Power, Electrical, Electronics, I&C, Mechanical, Civil/Structural)Proficient in all Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlooketc.)
  • Previous procurement, business process, or accounting experience an asset
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Detail-oriented, Time Management and organizational skills organizational and time management skills (ability to prioritize tasks)
  • Work from Whitby-Tricont Office
  • Able to travel between Whitby-Tricont office, Pickering office and site on occasion

The expected pay range for this role is $25 - $27 per hour
