As the world wide leader in avionics solutions for a variety of commercial and military customers, we are always looking for top shelf talent.  We need your help in creation of an Avionics Cockpit Central Display Unit (CDU) software simulations and modeling environment for the avionics display products we develop for our military customers.   Join us to gain crucial engineering avionics experience and skills for your future.  You will be part of a team that supports the US ARMY’s 160th Special Operations Air Regiment customer, US Marines, Coast Guard, and similar helicopter programs.  Our team develops command and control software for complex mission sensors like Aircraft Survivability, Weather Radar, Camera sensors as well as weapons systems (Hellfire, Cannons, Rockets) embedded in helicopter cockpit avionics.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform in a cross-functional agile team  

  • Work in close coordination with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes

  • Model and Simulate via Avionics Software based Central Display Unit (CDU) control pages

  • Demonstrate completed project at Summer Engineering Project (SEPP) demo fair

What You Will Learn:

  • Advanced Object-Oriented Programming Practices

  • CDU 7000 Avionics Suite software integration in US Military helicopters

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session. 

  • Coding Higher level languages like Python, or relevant languages (C/C++, Java)

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Threaded Application Development Experienced

  • Object-oriented programming experience

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
