You analyze hardware systems and ensure the customer has the best software working with a given suite of hardware and troubleshoot issues clients may have with their technology operations as a whole. For example, a program that fails to load or work properly may need to have the coding edited. Software consultants may work for a software agency or may be independent contractors.

To thrive as a Software Consultant, you need strong programming abilities, analytical problem-solving skills, and a relevant degree in computer science or a related field.
