Description
Forklift Drivers work with a team to efficiently create customers' orders, primarily with the use of power industrial equipment (PIE). This role involves driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities placing and moving products. Safety is a main priority for this position. While this summary provides the basic duties of this position, warehouse employees may be asked to cross-train and assist in other areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Safely operate forklifts to load and unload delivery trucks, ensuring correct stacking and wrapping of pallets.
• Verify and record all inventory transactions in Softeon, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
• Conduct daily consolidation and rotation of products based on FIFO principles to optimize space and readiness for incoming stock.
• Inspect, report, and document any product variances, damages, or discrepancies, coordinating with warehouse management for resolution.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring all equipment inspections are completed prior to use.
• Stage and prepare customer orders, wrapping and loading them onto fleet vehicles according to safety rules and the federal Motor Carrier Act.
• Replenish pick lines and ensure all products are available for efficient loading, minimizing out-of-stocks.
• Perform duties in accordance with all company safety rules and participate in required training, seminars, and classes.
• Unload excess, returned, and damaged stock from fleet vehicles, repacking them into clean packaging for distribution.
• Communicate effectively with team members and complete other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring overall efficiency of all warehouse operations.
• Crosstrain in other areas of warehouse operation and warehouse responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED is required, with 1 year of forklift experience preferred.

• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and handheld scanning devices, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and basic math skills, with the ability to read and interpret documents in English.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols, complete required training, and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposure to frequent sitting.
