Dealer Sales Team: The Dealer Sales Team is a collaborative, growthdriven organization focused on expanding the soft categories through inspired design, technical expertise, and strategic market development. The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in accelerating soft product growth by serving as the design and technical authority for independent dealers across the region, with a primary focus on penetrating and developing the Interior Decorator market. Acting as the main point of contact pre and postorder, this role ensures seamless execution while partnering closely with Territory Sales Managers and bestinclass Customer Service team to strengthen Dealer relationships, drive adoption, and elevate the overall soft business. 

Objectives & Outcomes: 

The Business Development Manager is the subject matter expert and business owner for soft window treatments, including drapery, Roman shades, and fabricbased solutions within a defined sales region. Blending technical expertise with interior design insight, this role supports dealers, designers, and decorators in delivering beautifully designed, highperforming soft solutions that meet both aesthetic and functional objectives. 

The Business Development Manager is accountable for driving soft category growth, elevating design confidence across the dealer network, and ensuring exceptional execution from specification through installation and customer experience. With a primary focus on developing and penetrating the Interior Decorator market, this role partners closely with Territory Sales Managers (TSMs), Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), designfocused dealers, and Customer Service to serve as a trusted advisor strengthening relationships, influencing design decisions, and accelerating profitable growth in the soft business. 

Design & Program Expertise 

  • Serve as the regional design authority for Soft Programs, blending interior design best practices, fabric expertise, and technical knowledge to drive adoption and growth within the Interior Decorator and Designer communities. 
  • Lead with CEUbased education and advanced design application expertise, acting as a professional liaison with ASID and IDCEC (supplemented by IDS) to build credibility, strengthen industry relationships, and position the brand as a trusted design resource. 
  • Partner on complex and designdriven projects as a consultative expert advising on fabric selection, fullness, proportion, layering, and decorative hardware to deliver elevated aesthetic and functional outcomes. 
  • Enable dealers, designers, and Territory Sales Managers through advanced, designcentric training that builds confidence in specifying, presenting, and selling soft solutions aligned with current design trends and Best Experience standards. 
  • Provide endtoend design and technical support from specification through installation ensuring design intent is accurately executed, minimizing rework, and improving outcomes on complex applications. 
  • Represent Springs as a designsavvy, solutionsoriented partner, reinforcing the brand's reputation for elevated interior design expertise, technical excellence, and leadership in the soft category. 

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual base for this position is reasonably expected to be between $70,000 and $100,000.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. 

This position includes a Sales Incentive Plan with a target of 25% based on quarterly goal attainment.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred. 
  • 7+ years of sales experience; industry experience in window treatments or interior design preferred.  
  • Proven expertise in soft window treatments, including fabric selection, drapery design, and installation practices is a plus. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. 
  • Strong phone presence and virtual presentation skills. 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned region; valid driver's license and good driving record required. 
  • Comfort with hand tools, ladders, construction sites, and safety best practices. 
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.
