THE ROLE
As a Service Associate in our Life Services team in Black River Falls, you'll play a key role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live more independent, self-directed lives. You'll provide personalized, hands-on support across a variety of settings - including day services, supported living, and youth services. Your work will help participants build skills, explore their communities, and achieve meaningful personal goals.
Whether you're leading a recreational activity, supporting someone with independent living tasks, or mentoring youth in skill development - your impact will be real and lasting.
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $16.60 an hour
  • Status: Part-Time or Full-Time(seasonal), based on candidate availability
  • Schedule: Flexibility required, including availability every other weekend
  • Travel within the community and between participant locations required
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver person-centered support by facilitating group and one-on-one programming tailored to each participant's goals (e.g., daily living, social skills, recreation, communication).
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed, including hygiene, mobility, meal support, and medication reminders.
  • Support community inclusion by helping individuals engage in meaningful community activities, develop friendships, and build natural supports.
  • Advocate for participants by encouraging self-expression, exploring opportunities, and maintaining professional, respectful relationships with families, care teams, and community partners.
  • Complete accurate documentation including daily progress notes, service records, and time tracking.
  • Monitor health and safety, reporting any changes in behavior, health, or emotional well-being, and assisting participants with following care plans.
  • Provide safe transportation for participants, promote pedestrian safety, and support learning of alternative transportation methods.
  • Maintain professionalism and uphold ethical standards, attending required team meetings and training.
  • Follow compliance and safety procedures aligned with local, state, and federal regulations, and Aptiv's internal policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable, insured transportation
  • Availability to work every other weekend
  • Passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and helping them live self-directed, fulfilling lives

Preferred:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities
  • Familiarity with behavioral supports and skill development
  • Wisconsin Certified Direct Care Professional
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of disability-related topics and person-centered practices
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and other cloud-based systems
  • Flexibility in scheduling and work environments
