Job Description

Acumen Solutions is looking for a Sr. Manager of Data Analytics to join our Analytics team. The Sr. Manager will work closely with the Information Management Practice Lead to help manage the team, offerings, business development, and implementation of the diverse set of data and analytic projects Acumen Solutions implements for our customers. This position is based in our headquarters based in the DC Metro Area.

Specific Duties

  • Direct responsibility for overseeing project implementations
  • Direct responsibility for managing and mentoring team members
  • Assist in the staffing and assignment of resources based on project needs
  • Manage resources and staff workload for their assigned projects; ensure studies are resourced appropriately
  • Assist in the development of new solution offerings, including materials, vision, strategy, value, etc.
  • Assist in the business development activities including RFP responses, Proposal creation, estimation, planning, schedules, and State of Work development
  • Manage, mentor, and evaluate performance of staff, including setting-up goals and objectives, conducting performance evaluations, and providing staff with guidance on technical/project related issues 
  • Champion development and implementation of quality controls and departmental standards to ensure adherence to consistent high quality standards
  • Exhibits proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and delivering data, analytic, and business intelligence projects across enterprise class customers
  • Champions long-term partnerships with multiple vendors across geographical locations
  • Expert level communicator both internally and externally
  • Successfully drives interactions with project teams by clearly communicating requirements around data, timing and budget to ensure successful project execution
  • Draws upon a wide range of negotiation strategies to facilitate cross-functional collaboration with project team leaders that achieves mutually beneficial goals
  • Participate in developing, defining, maintaining, and enforcing Data Management standards
  • Ensure process and standards are being followed and initiate process improvement activities if necessary
  • Participate in recruitment process in collaboration with Recruiters 
  • Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives and cross-functional project team meetings
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant data/analytic discipline
  • Minimum 10-12 years' experience in data management roles, including at least 5 years of management experience in the consulting industry
  • Demonstrated people management skills in teams with over 10 members
  • Strong working knowledge of proposal writing/ RFPs
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated in a professional services/consulting environment
  • Working knowledge of BI/Big Data 
  • Demonstrated project management skills
