General Summary
The student social media team will be a small group of your fellow Wranglers who will be designing and producing student focused social media content for our schools accounts. This role will include making content on a weekly schedule, starring in content meant to share the student experience of attending our campus events with the community, and learning how to edit using modern media tools.
Students who would be the best candidates for this position would be ones interested in social media content, media, audio/visual, public speaking and communication, and anyone that just wants to share their pride in being a Wrangler!
Specific Position Duties
  • Plan, develop, capture and finalize engaging digital content.
  • Generate weekly content for the school's social media pages.
  • Collaborate with team members in weekly planning meetings.
  • Develop ideas for posts based on events occurring on campus, homecoming, graduation, upcoming holidays, interview or polling content, and more.
  • Create storyboards and shoot schedules to record that week's content.
  • Record and host the content.
  • Weekly days to edit and finalize the video in accordance with OC Media and Marketing policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with OC staff and faculty to plan posts and content series
  • Work on scheduling times and planning shoots that highlight or promote individual programs such as Nursing or our food pantry.
  • Join event committees to see what kind of content the Student Social Media Team can plan to support the event.
  • Work with student organizations to produce content promoting their events and meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a currently enrolled OC Student including Continuing Education
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong planning skills to stay organized and meet weekly deadlines
  • Ability to attend OC events
  • Ability to work well in a team and effectively divide tasks
  • Comfortable hosting the content
  • Tech proficient (We will train you to use the editing programs)
  • Creativity
  • Familiarity with social media trends and culture
