What is a Social Media Creative Designer?

A Social Media Creative Designer is a professional who specializes in creating visually engaging content for social media platforms. They use graphic design, video editing, and branding skills to develop posts, stories, ads, and other digital assets that align with a brand’s identity and marketing goals. Their work helps boost audience engagement, increase brand awareness, and support marketing campaigns. Social Media Creative Designers often collaborate with marketing teams to ensure their designs are effective and on-brand.

What do social media designers do?

Social media designers create visual content such as graphics, videos, and layouts for social media platforms to engage audiences and promote brands. They use design tools like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and often collaborate with marketing teams to develop consistent branding and messaging across channels.

How does a Social Media Creative Designer typically collaborate with other teams to execute campaigns?

Social Media Creative Designers frequently work in close partnership with marketing managers, copywriters, and content strategists to develop cohesive campaigns. They participate in brainstorming sessions, gather feedback from stakeholders, and adapt their designs to fit evolving campaign goals and brand guidelines. Regular communication with analytics teams also helps them refine creative assets based on performance data, ensuring that the visual content remains engaging and effective. This collaborative environment supports both personal growth and the overall success of social media initiatives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Social Media Creative Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Social Media Creative Designer, you need strong graphic design skills, an understanding of branding, and experience with digital marketing concepts, usually supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. Proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and familiarity with social media management platforms are typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and strong communication are essential soft skills for generating engaging content and collaborating with teams. These abilities ensure visually compelling, on-brand content that drives engagement and meets business objectives in competitive digital landscapes.

AI tools are increasingly used in social media creative design to automate tasks like image editing and content generation, but they do not fully replace graphic designers. Creative roles still require human judgment, originality, and strategic thinking, making AI a complement rather than a substitute for skilled designers.

Both Full-Time Regular and Full-Time Seasonal Roles Available

1. Visual Brand Identity & Design

  • Digital Assets: Design high-quality graphics for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook using the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or Figma.
  • Sales Collateral: Collaborate with our Sales Leads to design professional pitch decks, PDF one-pagers, and digital "battle cards" for the sales team.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all departmental output—from internal training manuals to external ads—is cohesive, modern, and on-brand.

2. Multimedia Content Creation

  • Short-Form Video: Direct, film, and edit high-energy video content (Reels/TikToks) that highlights our office culture and expert insights.

3. Strategic Marketing Support

  • Campaign Layouts: Assist in the design and execution of email marketing templates and landing page assets.
  • Trend Analysis: Use your design eye to identify emerging aesthetic trends in the Austin tech/sales market and apply them to our strategy.

Every day is a little different, but your mission stays the same: deliver quality, exceed expectations, and represent Alta with pride.

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive pay: Because you’re worth it
  • Direct Impact: Your designs won’t just sit in a folder; they will be the face of our department's growth.
  • Flexibility: We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate class rotations or studio hours
  • Mentorship: Work directly with department leadership to learn the "business side" of design and marketing.

Why You’ll Love It Here

At Alta, we’re more than just a pest control company - we’re a team on a mission: to provide a better experience by becoming better people. That means we invest in our team, support personal and professional growth, and challenge ourselves to improve every day. When you join us, you're not just starting a job - you’re joining a culture built on integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement. We show up for each other, take pride in what we do, and have fun along the way.
