What You'll Do
As an intern at Burke Indiana, you'll apply academic knowledge in a professional setting while gaining new skills through continuous on-the-job training. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and participate in activities designed to support your growth.
  • Mentoring ProgramInterns are paired with experienced engineers who provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the internship. This one-on-one mentorship helps students navigate real-world engineering challenges and build confidence in their technical and professional skills.
  • Software TrainingLearn to use industry-standard tools like MicroStation, and other design software through hands-on training. Interns gain practical experience in drafting, modeling, and analyzing engineering plans, preparing them for future coursework and career opportunities.
  • Multiple Site VisitsExplore civil design engineering in action through regular visits to active project sites. These visits offer a firsthand look at how engineering plans are implemented in the field, from stormwater systems and roadways to environmental restoration and transportation infrastructure.
