large, well-established outpatient medical practice in Mercer County, NJ to hire a
Medical Pre-Authorization Associate. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented healthcare professional with experience in insurance verification and authorizations who is looking to grow within a respected and stable medical organization.
Position Overview
The Medical Pre-Authorization Associate plays a vital role in ensuring timely insurance approvals, accurate patient information, and a smooth patient experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations for medical testing and procedures
- Communicate with insurance carriers, referring physicians, and patients regarding authorization status
- Update, correct, and maintain accurate patient and insurance information in the system
- Manage exam certifications, including upgrades and downgrades as needed
- Maintain working knowledge of participating insurance plans, pre-authorization workflows, and Exchange EDI requirements
- Greet and assist patients, physicians, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Accurately enter insurance details and process required documentation (referrals, waivers, signatures, etc.)
- Scan and maintain insurance cards, referrals, waivers, and FTP documentation
- Collect co-payments when applicable
- Schedule walk-in appointments and provide exceptional customer service
Schedule
- Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Rotating Saturday (once every 4-5 weeks)
