What is a Snap Nurse CNA?

A Snap Nurse CNA is a Certified Nursing Assistant who works through SnapNurse, a healthcare staffing platform that connects healthcare facilities with qualified professionals on a flexible, per-diem or contract basis. SnapNurse CNAs provide basic patient care such as assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting nurses in hospitals, nursing homes, or other healthcare settings. Working with SnapNurse offers CNAs the opportunity to choose shifts that fit their schedules and potentially earn higher wages compared to traditional employment. SnapNurse streamlines the hiring process, allowing CNAs to quickly find and accept assignments through their app.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Snap Nurse CNA?

To thrive as a Snap Nurse CNA, you need a valid CNA certification, knowledge of basic patient care, and experience with medical terminology and procedures. Familiarity with mobile scheduling platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and standard clinical equipment is essential. Excellent communication, empathy, flexibility, and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments are standout soft skills. These competencies are crucial for providing safe, effective patient care and adapting to the fast-paced, on-demand nature of Snap Nurse assignments.

How does working as a Snap Nurse CNA differ from traditional CNA roles in terms of scheduling and work environment?

As a Snap Nurse CNA, you'll typically have more flexibility in selecting your shifts compared to traditional CNA roles, as assignments are often offered on a per diem or short-term basis through the SnapNurse platform. This allows you to work in a variety of healthcare settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, or clinics, depending on current demand.
