SMS Staffing Inc. is Hiring Immediately for 1st Shift Material Handlers!
Job Location: North Chicago, IL
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Pay: Competitive Pay (Based on Experience)
Shift Structure: 1st Shift 
Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm 
About the Role:
The job requires the ability to make safe decisions in the moving and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals. This position involves safety-sensitive functions.
General Responsibilities of Material Handler:
● Responsible for the safe handling, storing, labeling, and loading/unloading of materials.
● Maintain the integrity of materials stored in the warehouse.
● Pull chemicals and components in accordance with special instructions on Picking Lists.
● Store materials in various racks, shelves, and floor locations.
● Operate Forklift, Reach Truck, and/or Power Pallet Jack.
● May need to operate drum dollies and manual pallet jacks.
● Safely loading, unloading, and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
● Safely complete tasks and duties as trained.
● Complete cycle counts as requested and participate in full physical inventories as scheduled.
● Neatly and accurately complete all necessary paperwork applicable to the task.
● Report any safety issues, incidents, and/or safety violations immediately to Management.
● Wear appropriate PPE, as required.
Other Duties:
● Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
● Must complete all machine training offered by the company appropriate to the job function.
● Execution of activities as assigned.
● Responsibilities involving food safety, when required.
Qualifications:
● Basic Math, writing, and reading skills are required.
● Must have at least 2 years of forklift experience.
● Minimally lift 50 lbs frequently during the shift.
