Environmental Designs is currently looking for Small Equipment Mechanic / Helper with experience operating medium duty trucks and small equipment. If that's you, apply for a position at one of the fastest growing outdoor maintenance companies in the country.
Job Description
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with Project and Fleet Managers to assess equipment needs and repair problems by using the most cost effective practices.
  • Monitor and schedule preventative maintenance and repair operations.
  • Maintain and provide a report of all repairs and maintenance actions including parts and labor time on each piece of equipment.
  • Stay within monthly and yearly shop budgets.
  • Perform mechanical work using conventional hand and power tools in a safe and productive manner.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and work to proactively maintain fleet and equipment.
  • Run equipment and service truck for truck / equipment repairs outside of shop and facility needs.
  • General shop and office upkeep.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Ideal candidate would possess the following -
  • The ideal candidate for this position will have over 5 years of experience working on medium duty trucks, along with Snowplow equipment.
  • Experience with equipment including snow plows, mowers, skid steers, dingos, edgers, back pack blowers, string trimmers, ATVs, UTVs, etc
  • The ideal candidate will also be very proficient in using computer diagnostics software to pinpoint engine, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic issues.
  • Must be able to manage workload in cold weather for long hours at times.
  • Must be able to order parts as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of landscape equipment & small equipment including snowplows, mowers, skid steers, dingos, edgers, backpack blowers, string trimmers, ATVs, UTVs, etc
  • Knowledge of snow removal equipment and safe operating procedures.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
  • Efficient multi-tasking ability
  • A valid Driver's License (CDL preferred) and ability to meet company guidelines for driver eligibility.
