Job description

Parts Runner
The Reynolds Farm Equipment Parts Runner transports parts for service personnel, sales staff, and customers in order for the personnel to perform their duties for the customers. The Parts runner supports and helps all personnel to be as efficient as possible and provides clear communication on status of pickups, deliveries, and time of completions. The Parts runner is responsible for providing exceptional customer service with timely and accurate information and obtaining necessary signatures or receipts. The Parts runner must practice confidentiality both in and out of dealership and maintain positive attitude while working to improve teamwork between all dealership personnel. Most importantly, perform all duties with honesty, integrity, and adherence to the Corporate Values.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides excellent customer service to service department, sales department, and customers
  • Operates vehicles to transport parts, small equipment, supplies, and/or paperwork for the dealership and customers
  • Timely and accurate accountability for all time and distance traveled in performing duties; completes orders/duties by communicating with customers and co-workers on pick-up and delivery status
  • Posts freight to work orders or counter tickets as needed for transfers (if applicable)
  • Making certain that the technician or customer receives the proper part on time as promised; call customers for parts pick-up and delivers parts if necessary
  • Assist with cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory; report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to direct manager
  • Assists with stocking and maintaining professional showroom image and merchandise displays
  • Keep orderly list of parts on work orders or tickets being delivered or picked up
  • Maintains records of pickup and deliveries and obtains necessary signatures and receipts
  • Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policies
  • May need to maintain assigned trucks and related equipment in good condition
  • Assists in keeping the parts department and warehouse clean, orderly, and safe
  • Ensures parts for service work orders are in an organized area in the parts warehouse and accurately labeled, if assisting with this duty

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Proficient ability in utilizing communication devices and features
  • Experience connecting with customers, maintaining professional image, and establishing rapport
  • Basic understanding of securing plus loading and unloading of small equipment or parts
  • Proficient ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions, and provided software programs (if applicable)
  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures, road/traffic laws, and lifting and driving safety procedures especially during inclement weather conditions
  • Unwavering commitment to confidentiality
  • Some understanding of mechanical/technical terms (not required but helps with the job duties)
  • Great communication skills; written and verbally
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while working as a team and independently
  • Proper and efficient phone etiquette with customers and co-workers
  • Detail oriented; pay attention to detail and ensure accuracy
  • Time management skills with forward thinking of efficient scheduling of deliveries/pickups within the same geographical area to prevent overlap and rerouting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a degree of independence
  • Ability to lift items weighing upwards to 75 pounds
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation (must be 18+ years of age to be in compliance with DOL laws and regulations)
